ebay germany

Postby V-Dubb on Tue Mar 09, 2010 8:32 am

I've been on the hunt for a few parts for my car for a while now, finally been able to track down what I need, but it's on Ebay Germany.... anyone know how one would go about ordering items off of ebay germany? I know that I would have to contact the person to see if they're willing to ship to canada, and that's where I run into my first problem.... I don't know german. so if anyone has any experience working with ebay germany, or knows german could help me out, I would really appreciate it, thanks.

Send them a message, they may be able to read / speak english. Worst case, use Google Translate and convert your question to German. It may not be prefect but they should understand.

I used to order from ebay.co.uk all the time, I am sure ebay.de is the same, just make sure they will ship before buying.

English: Will you ship this item to Canada?
German: Wollen Sie diesen Artikel Schiff nach Kanada?

Might not be perfect but they should understand.

Many can speak english, and if not, you can use Babelfish or some other translator. I've had good success with eBay.de!

As Mike said earlier, Just send them a message and be sure they are willing to ship to Canada, many are not prepared to do so.

I found a third party company there that will purchase the rims for me and ship them to canada, so that's the route that I'll be taking. just waiting for my paypal to transfer funds from my bank account to them, then they'll be on their way. Only thing is that they're to heavy to ship in one box... so we'll see how long it takes to get the first one... then the second... I'm guessing it will be 6 weeks before I see the first one, and probably a month after I get the first one until I get the last one, then another teo weeks or so to get them refinished and mounted on my car. But at least I'll be getting them.

I have ordered a few things from germany and shipping has always been ups saver which is the air delivery. My schmidt wheels and kw coilovers came to my door within 3 days.

I hope they don't do ground service for you.

wow, 3 days would be amazing... I guess I might be getting my rims sooner than I though, which means I really have to tighten my budget and work my ass of to get some rubber.

Another cool thing is that the brokerage charges are a lot less than if you ordered from the states.

You may want to check with the seller on how he's shipping. It could be ground shipping which will take forever.

rims are on there way, time to price out some tires, I've been doing alot of research on stretch and fitment (if you don't like stretch, that's fine) so, I think I've found out what size I'm going for, and I found that these sizes are available, so here we go;

Toyo T1R in 195-40R16 for fronts, (7.5") and 215-40R16 for the rear (9")

I found a pretty awesome stretch calculator that tells me that these will give me pretty even stretch, as well as tires that are fairly vloes in size, compared what I found with pictures on tyrestretch.com,
Fronts;

so hopefully I won't have to many problems sorcing the rubber... any thoughts on if I should try out some different sizing?

I'll post what I posted on the 306.
Funny how such a simple wheel can develop such a following, I love Borbet Type T's, wanted some back when I had my GTI.
I think thats a good amount of stretch, any trouble finding the 195/40R16's?

Also these are going to look forkin' sweet on that GTI, IF thats what they are going on. Nice choice.

Tirerack has you covered for both tire sizes in these Yokohama's below and you will save alot of money buying through them, my father in-law just saved $220.00 on a new set of Goodyears for his car and that included shipping. UPS had them here in 5 days, $467.XX CDN. shipped to my door. (I ordered them for him).

If a person was to purchase the tires in the sizes you mentioned all in the Yokohama's they would come out to $568.18 CDN. shipped (if they were shipped to my door)

Big money saver right now with the dollar so high.

I like the Toyo's better but these will work just as well I would think. :thumbup:
